This course is designed to enhance your understanding in simulation technologies and methodologies to help you create better quality designs. Students will be able to appreciate the applications of FEA principles in creating simulated 3D models. Lessons will be conducted with lectures and corresponding practical lessons.


Course Outline

This course is designed to make SOLIDWORKS users productive more quickly with SOLIDWORKS Simulation software. This course provides an in-depth coverage on the basics of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), covering the entire analysis process from meshing to evaluation of results for parts and assemblies. The class discusses linear stress analysis, gap/contact analysis, and best practices.

Day 1:

  • Introduction to Simulation
    • Conceptual overview of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Understanding of FEA workflow
    • Walk-through of pre and post processing for Simulation
    • Understanding of analysis type
    • Introduction to SolidWorks Simulation platform
  • Project practical
    • Building the first FEA model
    • Pre and post processing
    • Perform linear static part analysis
    • Applying mesh control
    • Understanding of stress concentration
    • Interpreting results

Day 2:
